On Tuesday, May 16th, I am hosting the Poetry Parlour Open Mic at Pachamama Soul Flavour Emporium - 2110, 380 Canyon Meadows Drive SE, Calgary.
This a Writers’ Guild of Alberta event.
Open mic sign-up starts at 7pm. There are 12 5-minute slots available and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
**Paid featured readers are chosen from open mic readers, so come down and read for your change to be featured**

Our May featured reader is the outstanding Taylor Stasila
Taylor Stasila (pronounced sta-she-la) is a poet based in Calgary, Alberta. A born-and-raised Calgarian with close proximity to the mountains, Taylor has always had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the environment.
In 2021, Taylor graduated from the University of Calgary where she earned her bachelors in English and Political Science with a minor in Indigenous studies. Her writing blends the relationships between the land and our bodies, consumption, addiction, energy, and space.
She has participated in open mic’s at the YYC Poetry Slam, Koi, People’s Poetry Fest, and All the Way Up. Her poetry has been featured on the Indie YYC’s “Speak Up” online reading series. She has also featured at the 2022 Moving Mountains Climate Confluence, the Alcove’s featured Artist showcase, and now Poetry Parlour.
