On Tuesday, June 20th, I am hosting the Poetry Parlour Open Mic at Pachamama Soul Flavour Emporium - 2110, 380 Canyon Meadows Drive SE, Calgary.
This a Writers’ Guild of Alberta event.
Open mic sign-up starts at 7pm. There are 12 5-minute slots available and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Our June featured reader is the fantastic Olivia Van Guinn.
Olivia Van Guinn (they/them) is a Vietnamese-Canadian writer and poet from Northeast Calgary—where they acquired their fondness for descriptions of dreary weather. Van Guinn is a recent graduate from the University of Calgary with a BA in English and an embedded certificate in Creative Writing, as well as the Kathleen and Russell Lane Award for Creative Writing. Van Guinn’s philosophical, story-driven writing bears influences from creators like T.S. Eliot, Vladimir Nabokov, Clive Barker, and Oliver Sykes.
Van Guinn has written creative work published in Existere, The /temz/ Review, Plenitude, and other journals; as well as articles published by fillingStation and PRUDEmag. Van Guinn has also featured as a reader for fillingStation.
